The rumors that  F-117 has been partially returned to service in the Middle East even it is officially retired is without verification. And that means those things are only rumors. But the rumors around that plane have been always very big, and even the operation was not made by USAF, it could be made by some other office like CIA or NSA, and there are still many mysterious things about those aircraft, what has been a very successful part of the U.S weapon arsenal.

Those planes retired from service officially in 2008, but the thing what causes discussion about this plane's real role is that those retired aircraft have been stored in the Nellis air force base, what is near the top secret AREA-51 or the Groom Lake installation. The thing about the secretive operations about those officially retired planes has been sometimes as the topic in the discussions. if we think that those planes would operate by the CIA, the thing is that they might be transformed to drones and even the controllers of those secretive things would not know, what kind of aircraft they would operate.

Or maybe F-117 is used in the sensor and weapons tests in the operations, what are lead by the staff of Nellis AFB. The use of thermobaric bombs would be a good choice because those bombs would portrait as the fuel tanks.
