What is the brand? And why should investors avoid bad brands?



In marketing courses, people always talk about the brand. They are saying that some company is a good brands. Or some company is a bad brands. The manufacturer of the product is an important thing. The manufacturer is part of the reputation of the product. 

And one of the reasons for that is simple. The manufacturer is one of the things that are forming the reputation. Things like well-known car manufacturers are the thing that is guaranteed service and high-quality products. 

The stock exchange prices are important for investors. But the reputation of the company is always important. If the company is involved in corruption or some other bad-looking activities, that thing causes bad things to investors. And in the worst cases, the wrong investments and bad brands are causing prosecutions or the loss of the investor's reputation. 


Things that are making brand are: 


*Stock exchange price

*Company

*Is the company's way operate openly? 

*How the company reacts to prosecutions or rumors? 

*Does it allow the audience to see the production environment? 

*Does its workers have the right to talk about that company and its environment on social media without being afraid of consequences? 

*Does the company follow the standards? Like the use of protective clothes and occupational safety. 

*What kind of salaries the company pays?

*Are summer workers returning to that company next summer?

*Products

*Quality of product

*Country where the company operates

*Where did the company acquire its raw material or products?

*Is production environment-friendly?

*Services 

*And the customer service attitude

*Does the company follow laws and support wealthy and legal businesses? (Stay away from corruption)

*Production environment

*Does the company follow western values? 

*Does the company care about its environment?

*What do regular people get from the company? 

etc. 


The last thing is important if the company wants to make large-scale investments for production in some area. If the production requires large-scale factories. Local politicians must support that investment. 

Don't support things that you don't want to tell other people. That makes some countries difficult areas for business. Things like a cheap workforce can cause problems somewhere else. 

When some start-ups will deliver their first products to marketing areas that product should be good. If there are problems or errors in that kind of product it can destroy the start-up. 

And even well-known companies cannot bring unworthy products to shops many times. The sellers will choose a new deliverer if the product is not what it should be. The worst thing is that people buy the product. 

Then they see that the product is not what it should be. So they return the product. And that means if there are errors they must get their money back. 

But then we must realize one thing. If something is wrong in the company's value chain, or marketing chain, that thing can destroy the company. 

The brand is a combination of product and manufacturer. But also some other things are affecting the reputation or brand. And one of those things is the country where the company produces its product. The political and social environments where the company operates on both sides of the production- and value chain are an important part of the brand. 

People expect modern companies. That owned by western companies are supporting western values. 

If a company selects the country where it produces its products by using the wrong categories, that thing causes negative feelings about that company and its products. And if the company cooperates with the wrong partners. That thing causes very bad damage to the image of the company. And that damages the brand. 

Things like a way to make business are one part of the brand. If the company is involved in corruption or violates human rights or pollutes the land that thing could cause catastrophe. Also if the working conditions in some countries are terrible, that thing can cause boycotts.

What is business?



Business is an interaction between the different types of actors. And the business environment is the environment where business makers are acting. Sometimes it is described as the network of actors who sell and buy things. The business parks are an important part of the business environment. But also things like the community where the business makers are acting are as well as or even more important. 

If the business actors face resistance very often, they would not continue their business in that area. In cases when the community is always against business, the actors in the firm might change their operational area. That means they move to the other place.  The company needs a good product and good marketing for making the business successful. 

But also, the environment where the firm acts play an important role in a successful business. An environment that has a positive attitude toward business and entrepreneurship makes especially start-ups easier to launch themselves to markets. The business parks are making an environment where the attitude toward business is favorable. 

The thing is that the business environment requires start-ups and fresh ideas. Things like high-tech companies make the business environment interesting. That thing will bring rise to the entire business community. The question in marketing is how to make people click on certain homepages? 

And how do to confess people, that they should buy some product? If there is some kind of very interesting-looking companies in some business parks. That thing brings clicks to the entire community. The idea is that the business park selects the set of companies that are not competitors. 

And then that business park introduces that set on the internet pages to leads. Who wants to see the services that those companies are offering. 

When we are thinking about the business environment and business parks, their homepage structures could be that on their first page is the list of the companies that are in that business parks. That means the people who are looking for information about some special company or its product would see also other companies.

Machines are not racists. Human beings are racists.




The "shot spotter" system is very effective for locating the place of gunshots happens. The "shot spotter" cannot track people after gunshots are fired. It can make two circles around the location of gunshots.

Triangular metering determines the place where gunshots are located. Those circles are the possible distance of the shooter to the point where gunshots are located. Those distances are basing the average speed of a walking or running person or person who uses some vehicles. 

The "shot spotter" came into service in the 1990s. And there are more effective ways to locate the gunshot point. There is the possibility that when the shot spotter locates a suspected gunshot the system can send the drone to see what is going on. Or the system would aim the nearest surveillance camera to the point of suspected shooting. 

The new systems might base the networked systems like surveillance cameras and automatic drones that send to the point where shots are located. The system can base on the quadcopters that are around the city. And when that system locates suspected gunshot. It can send the quadcopter to see what is going on automatically. And that helps the field control to make sure about the situation before the patrol is sent. 

The acoustic system bases the microphones that are taking triangular metering. The reason why people are resists this system is that it makes the police more sensitive to use guns. The shot spotter sends information to the police HQ. And then the field leader will make a decision. Was the thing that is heard a gunshot or not? 

The shot spotter is a suitable system for the battlefield. But is it the same way suitable for city area? When the acoustic system detects a suspected gunshot. The field leader gets information about a gunshot that person has 80 seconds to decide to send or not to send the patrol. And then the reputation of the area has always an influence to decision. 

But the reputation and tales about the area. Always affect the actions of the law enforcers who go to that mission. If some area has a violent reputation. And the police are searching for an armed suspect. That thing causes the finger of the trigger to become too sensitive. And that causes deadly gunshots. If the attitude of a law enforcer is that the minorities are criminals. That will turn the risk of use of the gun even lower.  

If the decision is that the heard thing was a gunshot. The leader will send the patrol to the area. That will lower the limit to using the gun. Because the policemen will search the armed suspect. The thing is that the system is claimed to be unfair to ethnic minorities. When the suspected gunshot is heard in the neighborhood where the main population is a minority. 

This causes the patrol will send to the area more often than to the area, where the main population is white. But when we are thinking of the systems the weak ring in all chains is human. The thing is that the acoustic system heard the bang. That sound is not necessarily gunshot. Artificial intelligence can tell does some sound the serial fire of assault rifle. But the problem is that this thing needs artificial intelligence. 

The problem is not in the system that tracks possible gunshots. The problem is in people who are reacting to the cases. If the leader would not send patrols. That thing means humans made that decision. So the problem is not in the system itself. The problem is in the attitudes of people who use the system. 

Is there any kind of statistics that are telling how many phone calls to the emergency center cause that police to come to place? Or how many times police will not send because the on-call decides that the patron will not need to come? And how many of those decisions have been wrong? And how many of those 911-calls caused no reaction or where the patrol not sent was made because of gunshots?

The thing is that in the system where the decision of the reaction makes the human is vulnerable. If the leader will have racist opinions that are not the problem of computers. So why the system will not be allowed to send patrols to position automatically? The problem is that if the attitudes of police are racist. That thing always causes problems. The acoustic gunshot location system was the plan for making easier to find shooters. But the problem is the human who executes orders. When police will get information about the gunshot. Law enforcement must take those things seriously. They must prepare for the gunfight. 

And those situations are always stressful. Then somebody says "gun" and then there is a victim who had no gun. So after that, the internal affairs starts the investigation that takes as long as they want. The investigators were not in the dark street, where is the suspected armed criminal. Or the shooter claims that somebody saw a gun. Of course, there might be attitudes that some area is more violent. And that thing will cause the level to shoot people is lower than it should be.

But if we want to be even more ecologic, we could use many systems, which are good for creating ecological energy, and one is that the farmers can collect the waste to the chamber, where the methane, what is forming in that reaction can be taken to fuel for the own fuel cell. And the exhaust gasses of fuel cells would be driven through the active carbon filter. That means that pollution can decrease by this method very radically.

When we are thinking about the energy sources of the future, we must realize that the creation of a successful fusion reactor would be late. And if entire Europe would be addicted by one power system and one reactor, we must understand that only the minimum problem in that system can turn lights off from entire Europe. And this is why we should rather look for the other types of solutions than the one very powerful electric platform.

If we would use multiple small-size solutions the problem in one electric power unit would not cause the cutting off from the entire network. So if we want to make an ecological and faithful electric network, we should use multiple and small size solutions, which guarantees the power supply in the cases, where the one power unit cannot do its mission.

If we want to use solar power or thermal ground energy, we can benefit from those stable energy sources for creating electricity, but both of those systems can be made for creating hydrogen. And if the solar panel is above the cloud layer, it gives stable energy, and the water molecules are really easy to break to hydrogen and oxygen by using electrolysis. The hydrogen can deliver to the marketing area by using the existing natural gas tubes. But if we are thinking that the creation of hydrogen must happen somewhere near the equator, we are wrong.

Hydrogen can also create by using geothermal energy, and the hydrogen would be a good export article for states like Iceland, where is cheap to make geothermal electricity production units. But it can also be created in the northern areas by using wind and solar power, and that hydrogen can be stored for waiting for winter, where it can be used in the cases, where energy must be produced for fixing the cases, where the need of energy supply is extremely high. Hydrogen is a very good fuel for turbines, it's clean and there is no soot when hydrogen is burning. And the only waste, what that hydrogen creates in the burning process is water. So what if we would create hydrogen ourselves in the northern areas?

In the summers we can use solar panels for creating electricity, and that power can use in the electric network, but it can also be stored in the form of the hydrogen, which is created from water by using the electrolysis. Liquid hydrogen can be stored in the tanks, where is thermos layer. That gas can be used in normal gas turbines, which means that it would minimize the pollution.

Oil is one of the most interesting products in the world. It is one of the so-called strategic materials and the most important source of fuel in the world if we are thinking about the traffic and other cases, where is needed a compact power source. And the reason, why people are so addicted to that thing is a mystery. Why humans are invested in this fuel, even if they know that it would pollute water?

If we think that the cars would operate by using natural gas, it would be a more suitable fuel than oil, because if the tank of the gas-engined car would be broken, that thing causes pollution, and the water is turning to unable to use in cleaning or other kinds of purposes. But the problem with the oil is well known, and here I must say, that the main role in the Middle-East crises is causing because of oil. And that means that oil is also giving power to governments, which are hating the western world.

The oil weapon, which means increasing the price of petroleum product prices happened in the 1970s when the price of the oil Barrell was a rise, and that caused the rise of the oil products, and that thing was a very bad thing for American car industries. In that place were believed the big engines. The future seemed to belong to the small engined, economic cars, which were manufactured by European and Japanese car factories.

And because the space of the car was ended, the advantage along with new environmental thinking caused that the cars turned hybrid. That means the pollution of automobiles wanted to decrease. When we are thinking the reason, why the car industry is starting to think ecological ways to drive, is that many people have left private driving in the work trips and if the common transportation would turn more and more common, that means problems for the oil industry.

That industrial sectors have problems with a new type of publicity, and the thing is that riot police and military forces are not seem very nice on the Internet. That kind of thing like dictatorial governments and supporting the jihadists have caused the problems for selling the oil products.

That means the drilling oil from the nations, what is assumed the "political Islam" as their official law and line to work is sometimes translated as the political support for Islamists. Also, this kind of thing is causing problems with Russia, and the problem is that oil and natural gas are a very good way to blackmail other countries, which means that if the decisions of some customer don't please the deliverer of the gas or oil, that means that the gas tube would face the "political repairment".

That means that the gas ventilates would be closed if the decisions are against the national benefit of the deliverer of the fuel. So why we are using petroleum? The answer is that it has always used as fuel, even ethanol is more useful in automobiles because it can be produced from natural sources.

That thing makes it more effective fuel than oil but in these cases, the taxes would not be paid, and the government would be left without money if people would produce that fuel themselves. But the truth is that ethanol is not answered for the carbon dioxide pollution, and the only hydrogen would be used as fuel, what doesn't involve carbon, what forms the carbon dioxide while it burns.

And that is a hard thing even to the fastest and most powerful computers in the world. The sharpness is the key element in computing, and that is the reason, why we are using computers and networks.

One thing what that kind of program can do is try to detect the codes, what are written the programs like photoshop, and if that code is connected to the photograph, which is introducing some "real" camera image, that system can tell that thing to the user.

That thing would have a great influence on the acts, what people are thinking about some civil disorders. The virus scanners would not detect hoax information if they are just searching for malicious code. And that's why there would be a very important thing to create artificial intelligence, what might find out the hoax information from the homepages. That system can detect the registration plates and other things like texts, what is also in images, and find out if the language or selection of words seems something strange. But the thing is that artificial intelligence ever replaces human.

People should concern if some governmental newspaper is delivering the hoax information or the propagandist writings would be published as news. That kind of thing tells that there is something, what somebody wants to hide. If somebody would manipulate information, there must be some reason for that. And when we are thinking about the case, that we would want to give an offer to some company, the most important thing is to let those people read our offer. So the biggest difference between traditional and digital business is the speed, how the data would travel between companies. And when we are sending emails, we must remember, that those people, who are getting those emails would get probably hundreds of emails every day.

The thing is that we must realize that information security has a strong role in that kind of marketing and other business. We must secure our working environment and our network against hostile operators. In the network of business and private life, the rumors and false information is delivering very fast. And that's the thing, why we must be careful while working in the high-speed and hectic network. And the thing is that we must choose data, what we want to share. Fact is that we should tell people something about ourselves and our role in working.

But we must not uncover things, what might risk the security of the company or other people. The thing that somebody doesn't have a social media account is suspicious. That means that we must uncover something, and remember that relationships in private life would be a good gate to the inner circle of ourselves or somebody else.

If some person would get access to the wrong mailbox, that thing would cause the catastrophe in the relationship between the offerer and receiver. Or what would you think, if the first offer, what you get from some actor is some kind of joke? In the modern world, the thing is that we would not use one kind of software anymore for communication.

Social media applications might be used together, and even the person would not tell if they have a social media relationship with some person, who would send the offer of services. This is the thing, why we must be careful in this kind of things. If we would screw up in our private life, those things can be used against us. The thing is that people are not always telling their actual position of themselves. And that kind of things is dangerous because if we use strong criticism of some things, we might face that the target of our criticism is sitting at the front of us.

And the people, who are analyzing attitudes and data, what somebody shares might have multiple backgrounds, what means those teams are connecting their training. Those things are extremely important when services are offered to children.

The thing what makes a person suspicious is that that person accepts only similar people, what that person is to mate in social media. That tells that there is something wrong if the person would accept only the owners of the motorbike to the social network. Those people who make analyzes have psychological and another kind of training.  Their mission is to find out dangerous people from the network.

Thoughts about the future and things, what are delicate for some people. 

The thing about technical advancements of civilization is a very interesting object for thinking. When we are thinking about the technical solutions and biotechnology, we are facing one very interesting confrontation or paradox in those cases. The future of the human race would seem very nice, without our actions, what are risking the existence of the entire nature and our species.

Sometimes I have seen cases or arguments, where genetic and biological manipulation are prohibited because God has created us. Or that seems a very good argument for the new laws. This thing is interesting because some of those people are denying the existence of the god. There is some kind of contradiction, if the same person pleads for something, what does not exist.

Some people want to prohibit genetic engineering of human beings because that thing fights against the natural selection of some religious point of view. But there is one thing, what we must realize, and that is those people would probably not have things like cancer or AIDS, and that would make them real militant in the cases, where scientists are creating changes in our genomes.

When we are thinking about natural objects like small asteroids, which can cause very big destructions on the Earth, if they hit to the ground, there are people, who are denying the use of rockets or missiles against those targets. Those people have very good arguments for that solution, where the people just sit on the chair and let things happen because the asteroid is naturally created threat. That means  10 to 40 meters size stone can cause very big destruction if it hits on Earth.

That kind of stones can easily be destroyed or cut in smaller bites by using missiles. The thing is that those asteroids are one of the biggest threat for the human being and the possibility that those bites attack to Edinburgh is same class, what the hit to the same size area everywhere on the Earth is. The thing is that asteroids are natural objects, which are dead. 

This kind of things interesting, because at the same time people are risking their entire living environment. When we are thinking about the growing city-areas, we must face one very interesting thing, and that is that fast-growing cities are bringing natural animals near the human the way, what we have not seen ever before. This kind of things is called environmental angst.

But if we are thinking about the environment, we must realize, that we must not protect every stone, which can be found in the Universe.  When we are talking about the survivability of the human race, we should not set some bacteria ahead us, this is the thing, what we must realize.

Someday in the future, we would face the thing, that the genetic alteration of DNA is used, and that would cause very interesting visions of the humanity of tomorrow. The thing is that evolution is continuing in the human race as it has been happening before, and at last, a human would turn to another species if some kind of nuclear warfare or meteorite would destroy our entire planet.

But in the laboratories, we can create the advancing of the genomes, which normally takes generations in minutes. That means that we can use artificial fertilization for making the artificial embryos, and then take the DNA out from those embryos, cut it in two pieces, connect the side of another DNA, and put it in the cells, or use some other methods to connect those DNA bites together.

That thing allows creating the advancing what takes generations in nature in minutes at laboratory conditions. This kind of things is problematic in the point of view of morals and ethics because that kind of things is unknown for science. Genetics and genetic engineering allow us to create an organism, what is unknown to the world. The things in genetic engineering are a little bit different than if we would create machines. 

If we would create something, what we might call as the superhumans, we must ask one question: should we tell that thing to that inmate. Or should we keep that thing hidden from that person self, and hope that inmate really understands the skills and abilities, what that person has.

Genetics and genetic engineering is really difficult science because in the third world nations people don't have even traditional medicine and in the industrial nations, scientists are planning to increase our lifetime by fixing DNA of human being by using nanotechnology and artificial viruses. The thing what makes that thing problematic is that the DNA is damaging all the time because of chemical and radiological stress. 

In theory, the replacement of the damaged DNA would be very simple. But there is more than one practical problem to solve if that kind of solution would someday make in real life. 

Those damages causing the eldering, and there have been plans, that if the person's DNA would be stored after the birth, that thing can be copied by using PCR technology. And then that DNA could put in the artificial viruses. Then the nanomachines will remove the DNA from the nucleus of cells.

After that, the virus would re-assemble the fresh DNA to those cells. This kind of technology has been planned to use in extreme long interstellar spaceflights. Even if the astronaut would put in absolute zero temperature there is a possibility, that the cosmic radiation would cause damages to the DNA, and that means that the replacement for the genomes must be stored. Because, if the cosmic radiation would make damages to the genomes, that thing would cause death at the end of the journey.

Those groups can be billions, and when the computer makes the selection, it doesn't care about the groups, where we have joined by our own will. Algorithms would use many things to make that kind of separation. And they will notice if some member of some groups of Social media tells things, what was told in some group to another group.

This kind of people can put in the group "people who share information, which is not meant to share outside the group".  The algorithms are noticing, if the group is closed, and if somebody shares things about that group to some other group, would that thing be noticed by algorithms.

If the individual has grown in the middle of enemies, it would have better abilities to defend itself.

There is one case, what might be interesting in the way of the behavior tests and it has connections with the zebra mongoose.

Those animals live from two to twelve years, depending on what kind of mother those animals have. The thing in the mongoose-society is that the animals are making puppies at the same time and after that, the puppies would be feed collectively. That thing causes that the strong and the fat puppies, what are the puppies of the strong and big females are able to get better food. The beginning of life orders, how long those animals would live.

Could mongooses feel grudge?

So that population would be the good target for the tests, would the animal feel grudge or does it try to revenge the behavior, what it would face, when stronger puppies are taking its food. The way how those animals choose the puppy, what they want to feed is the size, and that brought in the mind of scientists the experiment, what would investigate the hypothetical ability to revenge. I don't know have scientists ever made that test on the action, but this kind of questions are nice to think.

So what would happen if the puppy-mongooses would choose the order? Would the lifetime of those animals change, or what would happen, if the weaker individual would become stronger? During those hypothetical experiments, weak puppies are taken from the group, and then they would feed with good food and hormones what caused that those puppies would grow big and strong. After that, they looked like the puppies of the Alpha-females, and the thing would be, that is it possible that those animals would revenge to the others. I don't know about the results of this kind of test, and there are many things, which makes people be silent about them.

Have you seen the movie "2001 Space Odyssey"? There the artificial intelligence turns against its creators or actually the crew of the spacecraft is the victim, what the artificial intelligence tries to kill. The thing is that in real life this kind of situation can happen because of the mistake, what is done while the programmer has been done the code. The thing is that there are millions of lines of code for each action, what the computer must control, and the thing is that there would be billions of actions, what the artificial intelligence must make if it must be autonomous.

And in somewhere in the billions of subprograms can be the error, what makes the artificial intelligence very dangerous. In the fictional case of "2001 Space Odyssey" and artificial intelligence  HAL  would this error be that the coders, who have made the code have forgotten to determine, what is the difference of crew and machines. The mission of HAL would protect the spacecraft, and the orders, what that system has got for the situation, that some part of the spacecraft would work in the wrong way. The mission what the artificial intelligence has is just shut the device, what operates wrong way, and call the crew to see and fix the problem.

The thing is, that if the member of the crew is working wrong way, the artificial intelligence tries to shut the crew down, and this causes the situation where the computer starts to kill people. When we are thinking about the threats of artificial intelligence, we must say that artificial intelligence is not dangerous in a normal situation. And then we must continue to think about this thing sharper, and we are facing the fact, that artificial intelligence is not dangerous if it is in the computer, there are no connections to the Internet or some physical devices.

But if we want that artificial program would drive the car, we are facing the thing, that this kind of programs must properly be tested in real life, that it would work properly. And in the first cases, the use of the autopilot should be reserved for the cases, where the car is moving in the highways. In the city, the area would the use or manual control is necessary long time after the use of autopilot is possible in the highway environment.

The thing is that when we are thinking about the situation, that the cars are operating with autopilots, we are facing the thing, that we must radically change the traffic system, and the all vehicles on the highway must interactive communicate together and traffic control computers, and that would not mean that the driver can sleep behind the control wheel. The thing is that this kind of environment, where multiple vehicles are using collective artificial intelligence could turn dangerous if there are some mistakes in the code, or some kind of computer virus would infect that environment.

And here we are facing the situation, that the computer program would turn dangerous if there are errors in code, or it would operate with the thing, where it is not meant. That means that the computer program, what controls the car might not be suitable for tractors or excavator. And in those cases, the situation might be very bad, if the controlling program, what is programmed to save the fuel or batteries, would turn the tractor to the highway because the programmer has not to mention, that the vehicle what the artificial intelligence controls is the tractor.

The program asks what vehicle it will control, and if the vehicle answers "John Deere" but not mention that is a tractor, or there is no determination what the "tractor" means, would the situation be very "interesting" when the tractor turns to the highway because the traffic is most flexible in that case. If every vehicle will have an autopilot, the traffic control can just drive cars over the tractor fluently. But this would need that every each of the vehicles would have artificial intelligence and autopilot, what has an interactive connection to traffic control.

The artificial intelligence would be very dangerous in the cases, where they are operating the wrong way, and one of those cases is that they are operating by the way, where they are not meant to operate. In the traffic, the automatic cars would be extremely dangerous, if they do not understand that some people would not follow the rules, and one of the things is that if the artificial intelligence controls some vehicle, and it would face the situation where another car would jump ahead behind the "stop" sign.

This is the thing that is very bad, and the thing is that for properly work the self-driving cars would not be a very common thing in the years and working properly this system needs the change that every car would have autopilot. In this situation, the traffic would be flexible and comfortable. But it demands that every car would have the autopilot. And that means the entire environment must be renewed, what takes the time.
