What is the brand? And why should investors avoid bad brands?

In marketing courses, people always talk about the brand. They are saying that some company is a good brands. Or some company is a bad brands. The manufacturer of the product is an important thing. The manufacturer is part of the reputation of the product. 

And one of the reasons for that is simple. The manufacturer is one of the things that are forming the reputation. Things like well-known car manufacturers are the thing that is guaranteed service and high-quality products. 

The stock exchange prices are important for investors. But the reputation of the company is always important. If the company is involved in corruption or some other bad-looking activities, that thing causes bad things to investors. And in the worst cases, the wrong investments and bad brands are causing prosecutions or the loss of the investor's reputation. 

Things that are making brand are:

*Company

*Is the company's way operate openly? 

*How the company reacts to prosecutions or rumors? 

*Does it allow the audience to see the production environment? 

*Does its workers have the right to talk about that company and its environment on social media without being afraid of consequences? 

*Does the company follow the standards? Like the use of protective clothes and occupational safety. 

*What kind of salaries the company pays?

*Are summer workers returning to that company next summer?

*Products

*Quality of product

*Country where the company operates

*Where did the company acquire its raw material or products?

*Is production environment-friendly?

*Services 

*And the customer service attitude

*Does the company follow laws and support wealthy and legal businesses? (Stay away from corruption)

*Does the company follow western values? 

*Does the company care about its environment?

*What do regular people get from the company? 

etc. 

The last thing is important if the company wants to make large-scale investments for production in some area. If the production requires large-scale factories. Local politicians must support that investment. 

Don't support things that you don't want to tell other people. That makes some countries difficult areas for business. Things like a cheap workforce can cause problems somewhere else. 

When some start-ups will deliver their first products to marketing areas that product should be good. If there are problems or errors in that kind of product it can destroy the start-up. 

And even well-known companies cannot bring unworthy products to shops many times. The sellers will choose a new deliverer if the product is not what it should be. The worst thing is that people buy the product. 

Then they see that the product is not what it should be. So they return the product. And that means if there are errors they must get their money back. 

But then we must realize one thing. If something is wrong in the company's value chain, or marketing chain, that thing can destroy the company. 

The brand is a combination of product and manufacturer. But also some other things are affecting the reputation or brand. And one of those things is the country where the company produces its product. The political and social environments where the company operates on both sides of the production- and value chain are an important part of the brand. 

People expect modern companies. That owned by western companies are supporting western values. 

If a company selects the country where it produces its products by using the wrong categories, that thing causes negative feelings about that company and its products. And if the company cooperates with the wrong partners. That thing causes very bad damage to the image of the company. And that damages the brand. 

Things like a way to make business are one part of the brand. If the company is involved in corruption or violates human rights or pollutes the land that thing could cause catastrophe. Also if the working conditions in some countries are terrible, that thing can cause boycotts.

What if Russian banks will be closed out from the SWIFT system?

 

The closing out from SWIFT means that there are no money transfers between those banks and other banks. That thing is devastating for the economy. And maybe that allows blocking the money transfer between Vladimir Putin's inner circle and other countries. That will limit those people's ability to operate at western marketing. 

Even Standard&Poors warned Europe about the influence of the sanctions. We must remember that economics is not an independent thing. When people are seeing that some nation is acting brutally. That causes antipathy. And today things like social media are very good tools to share information. That information can be right or wrong. But the thing is that thing will influence to invest to that country. 

Today is not possible to hide the membership in companies that have connections with Oligarchs. Even if we want to see that business is business we must remember that business with the wrong people can cause boycotts. A negative reputation is also damaged business. 

When we are thinking about the authoritarian government there is always possible that the authorities will seize investments by using some excuse. And that means the money is gone. But if the business is not tolerated. because things like production are against human rights. That thing costs also very lot of money. A lost reputation is a very expensive thing. 

Economics is always connected with politics. That a nation or country is following. We are all humans. And one aspect that is dominating marketing is psychology. If we are seeing that the police of some countries are using unnecessary violence. Or some other country will start unnecessary or injustice warfare that affects people's attitude. And attitudes cause boycotts. 

The problem with sanctions is that they might affect ordinary Russians, not Vladimir Putin. The thing is that the sanctions because of the Ukraine situation are necessary. But the thing is that we know that there is always the risk that the sanctions would not work. The nuclear weapons of Russia guarantee that the military actions against that country will not happen. But economical sanctions can affect at least the regular people. And maybe they are starting to see Putin in a different light. 

The problem is how powerful actions the sanctions include? Could the net attack against Russians be effective? Full close to the high-tech sanctions could cause Western mobile telephones not to get necessary updates because computer codes are also prohibited. Or those telephones will shut down. That situation would affect regular people. But do they affect the Russian business elite and Putin's inner circle? 

We know that Putin wants to finish his campaign in Ukraine very fast. And then that man believes that the focus of the world would turn away from Ukraine when there are more interesting things. So he might just believe that the world will not remember that attack. 

When we are thinking about things like the isolation of Russia, we must remember that we must not wait for the cold war. The cold war is already here. The thing is that economic sanctions are the thing that should give a message that the actions. like an attack on Ukraine is not tolerated by other countries.

Sometimes the news about the problematic neighborhood, what is full of violence and drug dealing is causing the decreasing the prize of the parcels, and that kind of things would help to buy houses in the low price because people want to leave that area right away. And then the apartments and houses would be repaired and sold or rent at a high price.

This thing would help the estate agents make very big profits about the business, what is made in those houses and flats in that neighborhood. The homepages and news where the neighborhood would mention as the problematic area would limit the number of buyers and the thing is that the people, who want to buy a new apartment would not probably come from the long distance to see the house, what is in the middle of the gang area, and that would decrease the prize immediately.

2. The news about the violent neighborhood can isolate people from each other

When we are facing the news, where some neighborhood seems to be the war zone, what is full of crack dealers, we might not want to go in that area, because of we afraid violence. This kind of policy and news can be used as the weapon, which would deny the people to go to that area.

And that thing can isolate those people very effectively. When we are thinking about mafia-bosses, I think that they would not like that their children would like to meet the crack dealers. But in fact, there are people, who would want to make barricades between wealthy and poor inmates, because they want the confess the other people that the problems in some neighborhood cause because of those people themselves.

3. The programs, what tell about problems in some neighborhood would sometimes increase violence in that area

The role of the police force is to defend the innocent and the mission of the law is to defend the weaker. If some person believes, that the police or other law enforcement authorities would not do their mission as the defender of the people, that thing might cost many lives. If the people would not trust the government that means that they would start to buy the weapons, and that thing would create only more and more violence.

In the beginning, I must say that every people have the right to defend themselves against the assault. But when the news is full of stories that some area is dangerous that thing adjusts people believe that there are threats in the darkness. And the world is full of people, who are believing that little trip to those areas is giving the adventure. Some of those people are very dangerous.

The thing is that those people, who are living in that problematic neighborhood makes crimes. But the thing is that those problematic neighborhoods are like magnets in the eyes of some people. Those people are waiting to show their karate-skills or weapon handling skills to the people, who they believe is violent.

4. Reputation as the violent neighborhood increases the number of private-owned guns, which increases the level of violence

The reason for releasing those people is the self-defense what releases those persons from the prosecution is that the target of the bullets or karate-kicks is targeted to the person, who was attempting to rob or otherwise harm other people. In that case, the defense against the attacker is allowed even by using a gun, if the attacker is armed or otherwise shows willing to harm their target.

In real life, some people are looking for troubles, and they want to use weapons or violence against other people. The thing, what would put brakes to those persons is that there would be punishments about those crimes. But if the person would attack against that inmate, that would justify the use of deadly force. There are some scenarios of the serial killers, who will victimize themselves for avoiding the prosecution.

And in the real world, there are people, who have the idea, that some people are allowed to shoot to kill if they are attacking them, and then that will justify the murder, what is covered as the self-defense. That kind of people is looking for the places, where the violence is very usual method to solve the problems. News, where is mentioned that the area is dangerous, is calling that kind or survivalists for seeking the adventures from that kind of areas.
