Thoughts about old SciFi art and large-scale Dyson's spheres

Sometimes we have thought, that terraformation of the planets would be the answer to the overpopulation of the Earth. But many times we have forgotten that terraformation could also happen that way, that the planet would turn to giant Dyson's sphere, and then the structures and cities would build inside this ball. In this case, we would take the planet, or big asteroid and make it hollow. If we are thinking that the structures like our imaginational colony, the gravity of that place can adjust just by controlling the rotation movement of the hollow planet, but that thing can be true in the distant future.

In the image, what I used shortly before is a slight-looking layer, and at the horizon is the pyramid-looking structure. And sometimes I have wondered would the artist mean that the image portraits the planet, what would be covered by using the silicone panels. The purpose of that system would be to collect as much energy as possible.

That thing offers the power supply for the civilization, what lives in the underground tunnels, or inside the hollow planet. In this kind of scenario, the pyramid-looking structure would be the antenna, what the civilization would use to keep contact with its colonies or docking area of the spacecraft, which are offering supplies for that hypothetical space civilization.

So where that civilization would get or find the hollow planet. There is one very interesting idea, what might make this kind of project possible, and the thing is that building the very long pipe, the hypothetical civilization would suck the entire planet empty. That tube would make the magma of that planet to fly to space, and then the atmosphere of the planet would be pumped inside its core, and then the entire planet would be covered by using silicone panels.

The pumped gas would deny the collision of the core. If our hypothetical planet is near the center of the Galaxy, that structure would give a very powerful energy supply for the civilization, what will live inside their hollow planet. And if that civilization wants, it can create the artificial sun inside this planet, which is transformed into the giant Dyson's sphere. Or maybe that planet would not be so massive as we think, and the necessary thing is the liquid lithosphere. The pyramid-shaped structure would make easier to find the docking station, which might be also the communication antenna. Maybe someday, in the distant future mankind would make this kind of space station.

Could the newest school of thoughts of philosophy named "Astrophilosophy"?

When somebody is talking about futurology, what is science that research people relationship with technological advantages and their influence on society, we must realize, that there are many similarities with the writing of novels. Nobody has seen future, or at least nobody ever has given any prove about, what is happening in the future, or what kind of advantages there will be in far after the hundreds or thousands of years. And that's why people would sometimes call the futurology as "Astrophilosophy". That thing would consist of the thought about hypothetical space colonies and travel to other solar systems.

Astrophilosophy would be similar than the philosophy of state or "Platonism". It would handle the human and our society's relationship with astronomy and the universe. What would be right, and what would be wrong, when we would start to colonize the universe. Things like protecting nature on some planet, which is dangerous for us, but what might be the level of bacteria is an interesting way to think about the conquering space.

Or if we would someday force to leave our home planet Earth, have we right to enter the young solar system, and sterilize some of it's planets to our new home? And if we would force to leave Earth, and it would happen because of pollution, would we let the same thing continue in the new home planet? This kind of things might be interesting to think before we would start to create new colonies in the Universe.

When we are creating new colonies, we must realize, that we should also give them something. If they are the only side, what gives things, that would mean that this colony would cut the relationship to Earth. When we would create colonies, the persons who would send to that mission would be most intelligent and perfectly trained. 

But if the journey would take hundreds or thousands of years, the colonialists would be born children, who have not even seen or hear Earth. And that would make social pressures to the relationship between Earth and it's hypothetical civilizations, but the problem is that those civilizations would turn aliens to Earth on together. And the thing is that maybe Earth would not in those visions be the number one, and it would turn to one of the colonies, or in the worst visions worse than average colonies.

The thing is that those highly intelligent persons could start to manipulate their abilities, and that means that they might turn to very highly intelligent, and also they can adapt themselves to new environments. And those environments could be different kind of places than Earth. Those colonies might start to send their colonialists to other planets, and they would not even tell that thing to Earth.

And why they should do that thing? Those hypothetical colonies might communicate with Earth from hundreds of light-years. That thing might take too long for communication. Then the colony would start to live it's own life away from the Earth.

When I wrote this text one thing brought to my head. And that thing is why when youngsters would write things like this, they are using their imaginations. But when elder people are thinking and writing this kind of things, they are making theories.

This is a thing, what makes me sometimes think, how many good writers could have lost because people attitude is that they are childish. When we are thinking about novels and writings, what are created by some writer, we can say, that many of them are still a theory. But why only elder people are making theories? This is a very interesting question. And sometimes people would think that the people who will write about their thoughts are some kind of autistic. That thing is a really interesting way to think.

What if we would someday travel to the stars as the routine operation?

In the "What if" channel was a tale about the situation, that someday we maybe can travel around the galaxy by using the speed, what is over the speed of light. In fact, if we someday could make those journeys, we must understand that real opportunity to the journeys to another star was reserved to the colonialists and scientists. In this version, there would not any tourist trips around the universe, and the reason for establishing the colonies would be that the growing population of the planet Earth and mankind need more and more fuel and raw materials for supporting our life form, and enlarging the circle of mankind.

And here we must ask, why we haven't traveled to another solar system yet. The reason for that is that there are no close solar systems, where we could fly in the humane time, and that's why we haven't created that technology. Actually, we haven't yet found any suitable planet for colonization. That's why we have not created technology for interplanetary traveling.

If we are thinking about the suitable engines for that journey, there could be possible to use photon- or radio wave engines, but the thrust of the photons or radio waves is so little, that there would need to use another motor to increase the speed of the spacecraft in the level of 99% of the speed of light. And then the photon rocket would increase the speed of the craft to the speed of light. The thing in the interplanetary spacecraft would be vehicles, which is a very big size.

The nuclear engines might open the route to the entire solar system

There is a possibility that those very large spacecraft would ever land on some planets and the resupplying of those crafts would happen in the orbital trajectories, and they would use ion or some other more conventional motors for traveling in our solar system. And we must handle the interplanetary traveling before we can fly to another solar system. When we are thinking the ion motors, we could operate them by using the solar panels, and giant fuel cells, but the real suitable thing for that engine will be a lightweight nuclear reactor, what would use Plutonium or some other extreme heavy element, like Neptunium or Einsteinium as the fuel.

This kind of systems could be possible in the distant future. When we are thinking about the NERVA system, there is a possibility to use that engine in the Mars trips, but for the more distance, there is a need to use more effective systems. And if we would think the extra stellar journey, we might face the thing, that the needed systems would be more complicated than some ion motors, what allows the spacecraft travel in the interplanetary missions.

The energy source for the WARP system is problematic

But for the interstellar journey would need to create vehicles, what are more enormous, than those interplanetary vehicles can ever be, and the size of those vehicles would be over 100 kilometers long because there is a need to create the storage of fuel, equipment, and life support systems. The fuel, what those vehicles use would be antimatter because the self-sustained fusion is very hard to create.

The WARP-drive would need very high voltage to create the speed, what crosses the speed of light, and the thing is that those systems, what would be magnet tracks, what are similar with MDD (Magneto Dynamic Drive) drive, what is used in the ships need the extremely high voltage to suck the ions through the tube with the speed of the light. The thing, what makes this drive problematic is that there must be very high voltage magnets, that enough ions could travel through the track, that the speed of the spacecraft would rise in the short period, that means a couple of years.

If the system uses antimatter, in the case of the explosion the entire planet would be in danger. In this scenario, the antimatter would be stored in the magnetic bottle, where it lays in the middle of the bottle. And if there are problems with those magnets, the antimatter would contact with the core of the bottle, and the spacecraft would turn to energy in the annihilation reaction.

The idea of the WARP is that the magnets will suck the ions through the tube, and that would give the spacecraft the speed of light, and the system is similar, what is used in the hypothetical submarine in the Tom Clancy's book "Hunt for the Red October". The thing is that in the water is no need for the very high voltage because water is a thinner element than space, where are fewer ions than in the water.

Colonialists could make Dyson's spheres by using hollow graved asteroids, which are used as artificial planets.

But when we are thinking about the colonization of the entire galaxy the journeys between the stars would take so long time, that the journeys between the stars would be one-way trips, and that's why the planets, what are orbiting those stars should be habitable. Or there is one very fascinating way to habitable the solar systems.

And that thing is to create the own planet by making some asteroid hollow. After that, the colonialists would transfer a couple of icy comets inside that asteroid, what is working as Dyson's sphere. This kind of colonization would make possible to conquer other solar systems, there are no planets in the habitable zone. In this hypothesis, the colonialists would make the colonies to many other solar systems by using this technology, where the hollow asteroids would use as the planets. Those Dyson's spheres would rotate with the speed, which makes the artificial gravity to the inner layer of that ball, and the colonialists would live in that base, in similar conditions with Earth.
