The new integrated data security requires hardware and software-based solutions.




New nanotechnology makes it possible to hack computers, even if they are off the internet. The cyborg bug or small robot can carry a microchip to the microcircuit. And then, the system can put that microchip on the wire or microprocessor. 

The microchip can record and transmit information to the relay station that resends to the satellites or the internet. Even if that microchip doesn't have powerful data transmitters, the system can use a chain of miniature relay stations that transmit data to the drone or a fixed station that can be a cell phone that communicates with those microchips by using BlueTooth. 

Those microchips can also transmit electromagnetic impulses to wires. And they can use to deliver computer viruses or spyware to polluted computers. 

If we think of the traditional locking system. The AI can easily make copies of the physical keys. The AI-based camera just photographs the keys, and then it can measure the length of the key. The system can also use sonar or laser scanners. And then, it can transmit that data to the CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) system. 

That system can involve a 3D printer and machine tools. There is the possibility that the attackers have laser systems that they can use to finish the job. Modern burglaries can work for governments. And in that case, they can have high-tech support systems. 

The fact is that the wrong microchips can cause a very bad situation. There is a possibility that those microchips are equipped with logic bombs. In that case, those systems can deliver computer viruses to the system. Or they can transmit information that flows through them to a third party.  

And even if those microchips don't carry malicious code to the targeted system. They can cause very big risks. If hostile forces know the resonance frequency of those microchips. They can use acoustic weapons to make physical damage to microchips. That causes oscillation and breaks the core of the microchip. 

The data security of tomorrow must base the solutions that are hard to break. When we think about things like electronic locks there is the possibility that in the future, cell phones with biometric recognition systems can use to open electronic locks. 

But when the telephone communicates with locks it must use a very fast algorithm. The recognition algorithm can be unique. And that makes it easy to track the device. That code is used for authorized access in physical or software-based systems. 

The burst of code, hidden in empty code makes it difficult to steal the key. When the telephone starts transmitting it sends an "empty code". Then the key code is hidden in that message. The next-generation systems are not just denying access. It stores the unauthorized keys in memory, and that defender can find out where the attacker stole the code.

Nobody is safe in the information superhighway.



The key element in modern data security is that all data that travels in the network is hostile. That means all routers, wifi-support stations and all other components like individual computers must have antivirus and firewalls. One memory card where a virus can pollute the entire network if somebody puts it in the computer or mobile device. And that's why the security team must protect all components that connect to the LAN segment. 

So the difference between past and modern ways to protect the LAN  is this. In the past, the network is surrounded by a firewall and antivirus. In the modern version, all data in the network is hostile. And whenever data travels through the router or switch antivirus checks the code. Also, things like bandit stations which are routers whose mission is to transmit data out from the net are made impossible to connect by denying the operations of the fixed LAN gates. 

There are always weaknesses in the systems. Even if the quantum encryption and qubits are making hacking difficult that doesn't mean that hacking is dead. Things like remote-controlled mobile telephones can slip into offices. And quadcopters can carry cameras into tactical points so intruders can see what happens on the screens. 

There is a possibility that in some offices the screen is just in a position where intruders can see the screen and record everything by using zoom objectives. And they can isolate things from the screen by using graphical programs. 

The mathematical theorem used to crack Pentagon's top-secret quantum algorithm. That means there is a possibility that some mistake can cause even the best-looking algorithm to be easy to crack. That means if the algorithm is protected the wrong way. There is a possibility that hackers can break the code by using a cheap laptop. 

Or if they can copy files from the system, there is the possibility that they simply use the password. Or they can slip into the office after the worktime, and if there are some password papers under the laptops or in an easy place to find that can be even more devastating than some kind of outcoming virtual attack. So security team must also make sure that physical data security is well-done. The screens must be out of windows and doors must be closed.

Are bitcoins safe from attackers who use quantum computers?



The fact is this. There is quite a small number of quantum computers in the world. They are easy to control. And there is no free access to those computers. If the quantum computer is in some cave there is the possibility to double-check the code that s driven by using quantum computers. But if some intelligence service uses that quantum computer. There is the possibility. That it will use as a tool for network attacks. 

Trusted organizations are controlling those systems. And that means the internet is safe from private attackers who use quantum computers. But the problem is that some governments might have a will to attack other states' facilities by using quantum computers. 

Nobody protects people against governmental actors. If the hackers are operating under governmental protection. There is no way to get them to the court. 

The NSA is not the only network intelligence organization in the world. Chinese and Russians are also interesting in quantum computers. And those governments have their way to make hackers cooperate with their military and intelligence organizations. If some hacker would not cooperate those governments will make some trouble to that person who dares to deny their offer. 

In the worst cases, some family members will get in trouble. If the hacker says "no". And the offer goes like this. If the hacker will cooperate with authorities, some of that person's family members would not get a new workplace in carbon mining. 

And one area where quantum computers are the ultimate tools is cryptology. Quantum computers can use to break protective algorithms. The thing is that the benefits and power of quantum computers are well-known. That makes them very financed and very wanted tools.

As I wrote earlier, there are not many quantum computers in the world yet. But the situation can change quite soon. The R&D work around quantum computers continues. And the advantages in that area are impressive. The quantum computers would turn more common all the time. 

And sooner or later also medium and small-size companies can buy those systems. So in those companies may work people with some gang-contacts. And they can offer access to their systems for private hackers.

The biggest threat from the non-governmental sector is that some hackers will get access to quantum computers. And they can use the quantum systems for carking tools. When those quantum systems turn more common, there is the possibility that this kind of quantum system would get into the wrong hands.

The internet has been made many things safer. But it's a dangerous place.



Students are told not to use Wikipedia in research, but it's trustworthy. Says the article in "The Conversation". The link to the article is here. But you can see the URL below this text. 

The prohibition of using Wikipedia as a source for research is one of the most interesting questions in the studies. In normal cases the Wikipedia is trustworthy. And some people are saying that the purpose of that prohibition is to make work more difficult than it is. 

The thing is that Wikipedia is trustworthy in the cases like computing and natural sciences. But there are also problems with the things like selecting sources for the works in the modern world. Things like books are good sources if they are confirmed. But the fact is that during the time of the internet the printed information might be old. 

When books are coming to bookstores they might handle the old-fashion information. And that thing is visible in the most intensive areas like computing. The things that people are used to doing might turn old-fashion in a very short period. The fast advantages in the programming architecture and operating systems are making some well-known methods old-fashion. 

Let's take one example. In the past, data security was the area, where only a couple of operators worked. Their mission was to deny the hacking. And in old good times, hackers just called the phone calls. But today the fixed data connections are making the internet more secure. 

If we are taking the point of view from the coding and programs. The firewalls are blocking the normal malicious code like echoing the formatting command from operating systems. The artificial intelligence-based firewalls are searching the source code of the data packages. 

But the risks are turned to social media. People can share data that should not share. Things like images of firearms and memberships of the shooting clubs can cause burglaries because criminals want that kind of stuff. And also things like papers that are forgotten to table and where is passwords can cause problems for data security. If criminals are zooming those images. 

They can get the passwords for the targeted systems. Also, things like hidden surveillance cameras can uncover data from the screens. One of the examples of that kind of thing is uncovering the Russian "Status-6" "Kanyon" torpedo with 100 mt. warhead. The papers that were visible on the camera allowed western actors to isolate the diagrams of that system by using the zoom of the graphics program. 

When the organization faces data crime the first thing is to report that to authorities. And of course, that report can also give to the media. That allows that all people know that there was a security leak. And they know how to handle the situation. And when the data security has been broken or dangered. That thing should cause discussions about the topics: "what should we do otherwise that this would not happen again". 

That kind of thing is called physical hacking. The workers should dare to report the people who are asking strange questions. Or bar evenings where the "film is cut". That thing can tell that somebody is trying to steal data from the system by asking for passwords. And also family members should tell if they get strange phone calls or somebody asks about things like when parents are at work. 

The mainframe of the hacking is turning to social hacking. In the worst-case criminals are taking hostages for blackmailing key persons.  The hacker would send the probe like E-mail or text message for asking passwords. That means the mobile telephone or the captured Email of the boss would open the road to the system. 

Or otherwise, hackers might try to cheat or blackmail people give passwords and access to the system. One version is to stun a person by using chloroform. And then the Sodium Amytal would force the person to give passwords. 

In another version, the data criminals use the zombie poison (Tetrodotoxin) to order their victims to transfer money to their accounts.  The thing in data security is the "open attitude". If something is tried to affect the person that person should dare to tell that thing. If the hackers are stolen data the first action is to confess that thing. Hiding the information-stealing is the worst thing, that people can do.

If we are thinking about the role of the virus scanners in a computer network, the system might detect things, what people might not want to tell. When we are thinking about the role of networks in computing, we have always forgotten that almost every computer in the western ICT-infrastructure is connected to the network.

Every network is an intranet, and in cases, like North-Korea the entire country is the giant intranet, where is shared very well filtered information. The methodology is similar to the companies, what are using IP-address based system, where is shared only information, what is allowed by the leaders of the company. But the scale of those macro-sized intranets is much larger than in some company's network.

And also official authorization makes those systems more powerful tools for surveillance more effective than any private network can be. In that infrastructure, people must force to use the software, what is terminating their privacy, and let government agents check their computers whenever they want. Also, those people should force to get surveillance operators to use their web-cameras by remote control to find out, who is with them. If somebody denies those things, that person might send to prison camps for "retraining".

That means that we must be careful, what we are doing with our computers. The virus scanners can protect the network in the many layers, and of course, server-based systems might protect the system even single computers would not have virus scanners.

But this thing requires one thing, every bit what comes to the network and comes from the network must travel through that server. And the thing is that also the communication between computers, which are connected to the network must be routed that also their data would travel through the server. This arrangement is called the star topology.

One of the things, what virus scanners are doing is that they are protecting the network from outer attackers, and the other mission, what virus scanners have is to protect other users from the attacks, what comes from some network. The thing is that if some hacker would use some network as the attack platform, that means the system can cause damages because trust to that operator is gone, but also authorities are making research and investigations.

That means that the offices might be sealed by officials, and the use of the internet is limited from the personnel who are working in that company. Sometimes is introduced a scenario, where saboteurs would connect their devices to the network, what is operated by their competitor for making troubles for the reputation of that company, what they use as an attack platform.

Those attacks might be tracked very soon, and the police would arrive at the headquarters of some company. Even if those attacks would fail, the platform company would get very big losses, because police must search those offices and interview personnel. When we are thinking the antivirus software in this kind of situation, the mission of it might be identified all computers, which are connected to the network.

Also, the system might have a mission to detect computers, which have different settings than other users computers. But when we are returning to think about our favorite tool, the artificial intelligence, that system can detect computers, what seems like hacking tools. The thing is that the creators of artificial intelligence can input the parameters, what can detect the computers, what are used for hacking tools.

The profile of those machines would get from the computers, what the officials are confiscated. Then the settings and programs of those machines would be programmed to artificial intelligence, and it can detect similar settings and programs from the network. But if we could get more data about the actions of hackers, we could use that data to make a model of the hacker, and that model can be used to detect other hackers from the network.

So in this model, the actions of detected hackers would observe, and that data is used to make model and profile, what can compare with other users. In the best case, the data can be collected from entire studies time, if the hacker is a student. And then the officials would arrest that person after graduation, which makes possible to create a full-scale complete profile of that kind of people.

I know this seems utopistic, but during that surveillance time the hacker could be used to share hoax information to the back organization, and also the files, what that person deliver might be equipped with tracking cookie. Tracking code allows detecting people, who are paying for some other reasons to share that information, what is got by using the illegal methods.

Networks and revolution of technology are not a new thing, but the thing is that those things are now happening in the many times during the generation. ICT and digitalization are becoming a more and more important part in the business and governmental actions, and today we can be connected to the people more effectively than we ever thought before.

The lightweight, mobile systems allow people to be connected on the Internet all the times, and that makes new kind of threats and opportunities for business and another kind of things. The key role in digital business is similar to normal or traditional business is in the networks.

And the value of networks is that those things are giving information for the people very fast. And when we are thinking about the case, that we would want to give an offer to some company, the most important thing is to let those people read our offer. The things, that the people who are buying services and select subcontractors would have contact with the offer maker because large and well-known companies get offers all the time. So why the person, who selects the subcontractors or contractors would read our offer?

This is the most difficult thing. When we are thinking the digital business and management of that kind of things, we must remember, that if we want to create trust with those actors we must give something, what might interest those actors. So the biggest difference between traditional and digital business is the speed, how the data would travel between companies. And when we are sending emails, we must remember, that those people, who are getting those emails would get probably hundreds of emails every day.

The thing is that we must realize that information security has a strong role in that kind of marketing and other business. We must secure our working environment and our network against hostile operators. In the network of business and private life, the rumors and false information is delivering very fast. And that's the thing, why we must be careful while working in the high-speed and hectic network. And the thing is that we must choose data, what we want to share. Fact is that we should tell people something about ourselves and our role in working.

But we must not uncover things, what might risk the security of the company or other people. The thing that somebody doesn't have a social media account is suspicious. That means that we must uncover something, and remember that relationships in private life would be a good gate to the inner circle of ourselves or somebody else.

If some person would get access to the wrong mailbox, that thing would cause the catastrophe in the relationship between the offerer and receiver. Or what would you think, if the first offer, what you get from some actor is some kind of joke? In the modern world, the thing is that we would not use one kind of software anymore for communication.

Social media applications might be used together, and even the person would not tell if they have a social media relationship with some person, who would send the offer of services. This is the thing, why we must be careful in this kind of things. If we would screw up in our private life, those things can be used against us. The thing is that people are not always telling their actual position of themselves. And that kind of things is dangerous because if we use strong criticism of some things, we might face that the target of our criticism is sitting at the front of us.

And the people, who are analyzing attitudes and data, what somebody shares might have multiple backgrounds, what means those teams are connecting their training. Those things are extremely important when services are offered to children.

The thing what makes a person suspicious is that that person accepts only similar people, what that person is to mate in social media. That tells that there is something wrong if the person would accept only the owners of the motorbike to the social network. Those people who make analyzes have psychological and another kind of training.  Their mission is to find out dangerous people from the network.

How to handle feelings on the Internet?

Internet and own home are a very good place to handle things like feelings, and in that combination is sometimes very devastating. When we are tired, or somehow in very sensitive feelings, we might make mistakes, what we will shame in the next morning.

And this is the thing, why we should not write when we are tired, but as you know, when the inspiration strikes, you cannot resist emotion. Inspiration is the most important thing if the person is working in the creative area. And here we must say, that creative persons are sometimes somehow different than other people.

This is the thing, what we must understand when we are making texts or something else on the net. On the Internet is many people, who like to say, that hackers or somebody else would see everything, what we are writing in here. And why should we care about that thing? Why we must hide things, what we feel or what we like? Like in many other stories, there is a background in this column.

I just read some feedback, what I got in some blog, what have written, but as you know I have not updated that blog recently, and there was some hacker or something like that, who told that this person has been reading that text. And I was impressed because that blog or text is free to read on the Internet.

So that thing that somebody has read those texts doesn't mean that this person is somehow good hacker. So what must I afraid? That somebody would notice about writings about some Russian modern art? So if somebody says that the person is hacker, we must remember, that we must act in the same way, when somebody is telling to be a burglar.

What we should notice when we are looking at the writings?

There are many times told, that if people should not tell or share a thing on the Internet, and the reason is that their privacy has been a danger. But is this the truth and only truth? When we are looking as so-called qualified books and writings in the newspapers, we are facing the thing, that there are many times published information, what is somehow irrelevant or harmful.

One of the saddest examples about this thing is that the medical diagnosis of the scientists are published, and the only thing that means something is that diagnosis. The thing is that medical staff, who are handling that kind of information has professional secrecy about the diagnosis of people.

When we are thinking about things like psychic disorders, we must see that it's same, what kind of movies about that kind of things are made in Hollywood. There are no people, who are telling that movies like "Hannibal" are harmful to the social life of mental patients.

There is no patient association, which would even say a thing against those movies, but when somebody would make a little joke of the Parkinson patients, that causes very big media protests, that this kind of jokes is tasteless. But no media has been protested against movies, where serial killers are hunting people. Of course, those people are the most brutal and notorious people in the world, but only a couple of psychiatric patients are really that kind of people

One of the most important things for hackers is to create the right code, which can destroy the system or send the data, what system involve to the hackers. If we think the first case, where a hacker would want to destroy the data system, the motive might be that the system, what breaks down offers the hacker opportunity to load malicious software in the system by using a memory stick or infected hard disk.

The destruction of the data system might also be made for covering the stealing the information, and the destruction is hoped to cover the position, where the stolen data have been sent. Or one thing of the destructive virus would just make problems for some web stores, and maybe some hacker would want to destroy the database of the customers, that this person should not pay the bills about the stuff, what has been ordered.

The tracking tool is not very easy to create, and the thing is that hackers must make the software, what will slip through the firewall and antivirus software. So the hackers must get the code before they can begin their operations. And that thing can be made by playing a millionaire, and hope that some service would infect their computer by the tracking cookie.

One of the problems with that thing is that they must recognize and isolate the virus file and after that those persons must modify the code, that it will send the data to their computers. This is really difficult, because the code has caused the alarm, and it must modify that it could avoid the virus scanners and other network security programs.

And if some computer would send malicious software to network too often, would that cause that the network of that person would be cut. Then those hackers must test their program, and there might be only one chance to make the perfect virus. But the thing is that those hackers must handle complicated programming methods. They must also realize, that some developing tools are sending information to anti-virus if somebody is trying to make malicious software by using that tool.

The stolen data can be tracked and if the hacker's location is found out, there would be only one choice. Those persons can be arrested or they must move to another country. And that's why they must cover their location by using tools like chained remote use of computers. In this version, the hacker would use a chain of computers by using remote tools, and if those machines would be located in different countries, the system might cover the identity of hackers.

But that kind of use of computers needs physical computers. And putting them in different countries need good relationships. Those hackers need to get safe places for those computers in different cities because if the location of the computers is not safe, somebody can steal the physical computers. And that's why those hackers must get the flats for their operations.

This costs money.  So those hackers can steal a couple of Dollars from the thousands or millions of bank accounts and earn billions of Dollars, and nobody even notices that thing. But those hackers could also try to put the tracking tool to the computers of the Department of Defense. But as I told you this kind of things need money, and the persons, who would boot the computers, if there is some kind of updates, what need rebooting the system, and after that, the remote connection must be established again.

When we are thinking about the companies, whose mission is actually monitoring the employers of some other companies, we must realize the thing, that those companies can also share that data to the third party. This is a very bad thing, and when we are thinking about the cases when the source codes of tracking software have been stolen, that thing might be very dangerous. The hackers can customize that software, and use it in their own purposes. And this is a really bad thing for the security.

Modern hacking has been changed from the operations of hobbyists to fully professional hackers, who are selling data to the persons, who are willing to pay about things like that. They can also customize the software what is used as the tracking tool, and then resell that software. If the network owner would use the legal tool, what reports the user that the connection is monitored, the hacker can fix that code that way that there would be no information about the surveillance. And this stealth version of this software can slip to the targeted system.

The next generation tool for hacking is artificial intelligence. 

Artificial intelligence would be the next generation tool for hackers. It can operate independently, and in the worst case, the hackers just write the name of the targeted company to the screen. And then the computer hacks the target automatically. The benefit of artificial intelligence is that thing ever get tired. This means that the machine can operate non-stop to searching the network, looking for data, and test the passwords. It can change the IP-address of the attacking machine, which makes it really hard to track.

And the thing is is that this operator would ever sleep, and it can operate even years non-stop in the computer, what is in some empty room, and that computer is far away from the human operators. It cannot be connected to any humans, and if it is found, the hackers remain free, because they cannot be tracked, if the system is made correctly. The computer just delivers the captured data to the internet, and the system can carry it by using several servers, which might locate in the different countries, which makes tracking of the hackers very difficult.

When we are thinking about artificial intelligence, it would be the ultimate tool for hackers. Artificial intelligence can collect every single byte of data, what is written about the company, and then it can look at the worlds, what is looking like the passwords. Actually, it can use the same programs, what people use, but artificial intelligence does it more effective way. The thing is that artificial intelligence can make many things faster than human makes it an effective tool for hacking tool. That means that artificial intelligence can try the entire dictionary book of words to some password square.

It can change the IP-address of the computer automatically if the targeted system tries to block the address, where the suspicious traffic of bytes comes from. But it can also compile the response time of the targeted system, and that means that artificial intelligence can try letter by letter the password, and the thing would be that the response time would be a little bit longer if the letter is part of the password.

And it will test the password by putting a letter to the line of the password, and it will compile the errors of the response time. The thing is that when the letter is part of the right password, the system must drive the database a little bit longer because the system would compile the password by mark to mark, and this response time can be metering.

The form of the password can make it easy to notice if the wrong file would be opened on the Internet. In the worst case, the passwords are stored in the database, what is hacked. And then the hackers can dump all that data to their own system. Or they can make own superuser in the database, and that thing can cause the situation, that those hackers can operate years in the targeted systems. Those words are combinations of the letters and numbers, what are stored in the databases, and in some cases, those passphrases can be seen at the Internet by googling the name of the domain and trying word passwords after this. That will sometimes uncover the passwords very effectively if they are in the database, where can be accessed from the internet.

The thing what gives warning that some nation would be behind the hacking is that there must be installed some software in every computer, what is used in some country, and what is owned by some companies. This seems a very effective way to monitor people, but there is one thing, what the actors, what makes this kind of operations have forgotten. People can use their own computers also for the business, and that thing will be very good to know when those kind of things are made.

When we are talking about climate changing, we sometimes face the question, who is the leader in this kind of thing? What is the thing, what is working as that authority and leads the things, what are the solution for that problem? And here we are facing the thing, what is the funniest, what we can imagine. It is very interesting, and it is the question about the leadership of the projects.

The major question in almost every project in the world is the question about the leadership of the project. And it is a very important role in things like catastrophes, accidents and economic problem, the first question is, who is the leader of the operation? The first thing, what is done in some catastrophic area is that the leaders of the operation would create the headquarters and start to lead the team, what uses multiple things in the area.

Another thing that is very interesting is about the hacker group Anonymous. The thing what surprised the media and authorities was that the group had not leaders. There was nobody who was contacted during the hacking campaign, and that thing is a very interesting thing. And the system what is changing is that those anonymous hackers or whatever they are are so-called hacktivists. They would not tell anything before they are published the things, what they are collecting from the network.

An organization without leaders is always a dangerous organization. That means that the organization would continue its action and operation even if some people would take the offer and stop working. That means that this kind of networks is hard to remove, and there are always new people, who are willing to hack for that organization.
