In the normal natural environment takes thousands of years to establish some level of evolution. But in the laboratories, we can create the advancing of the genomes, which normally takes generations in minutes. That means that we can use artificial fertilization for making the artificial embryos, and then take the DNA out from those embryos, cut it in two pieces, connect the side of another DNA, and put it in the cells, or use some other methods to connect those DNA bites together.

That thing allows creating the advancing what takes generations in nature in minutes at laboratory conditions. This kind of things is problematic in the point of view of morals and ethics because that kind of things is unknown for science. Genetics and genetic engineering allow us to create an organism, what is unknown to the world. The things in genetic engineering are a little bit different than if we would create machines. 

If we would create something, what we might call as the superhumans, we must ask one question: should we tell that thing to that inmate. Or should we keep that thing hidden from that person self, and hope that inmate really understands the skills and abilities, what that person has.

Genetics and genetic engineering is really difficult science because in the third world nations people don't have even traditional medicine and in the industrial nations, scientists are planning to increase our lifetime by fixing DNA of human being by using nanotechnology and artificial viruses. The thing what makes that thing problematic is that the DNA is damaging all the time because of chemical and radiological stress. 

In theory, the replacement of the damaged DNA would be very simple. But there is more than one practical problem to solve if that kind of solution would someday make in real life. 

Those damages causing the eldering, and there have been plans, that if the person's DNA would be stored after the birth, that thing can be copied by using PCR technology. And then that DNA could put in the artificial viruses. Then the nanomachines will remove the DNA from the nucleus of cells.

After that, the virus would re-assemble the fresh DNA to those cells. This kind of technology has been planned to use in extreme long interstellar spaceflights. Even if the astronaut would put in absolute zero temperature there is a possibility, that the cosmic radiation would cause damages to the DNA, and that means that the replacement for the genomes must be stored. Because, if the cosmic radiation would make damages to the genomes, that thing would cause death at the end of the journey.
