There are two wormhole theories
1. The virtual wormhole bases Einstein's Theory of Relativity, that gravity or very high speed slows the time. That means that the time is a relative thing, what can be stopped by traveling by the speed of light.
In the first version, the crossing the speed of light is only virtual. The idea is that the black hole would be used as the gravity sling, which would increase the speed of the particle near the speed of the light.
And the slowing the time in the particle would cause the virtual effect when the hypothetical astronaut would see that the travel between stars would feel to take only minutes. The time to start, what is at the 150 light-years away from the Earth would take 150 years.
The "virtual wormhole" bases Einstein's theory about that the time would slow in the gravity field or when the particle moves with very high speed. And in this theory, the energy is slowing time, because gravity is one version of energy, like kinetic or movement energy is?
The wormhole would be the effect when the particle is traveling in the space by the speed of 99,99% of the speed of light. And that causes the effect, that the time goes very slow or time stops inside the particle.
In this theory, the lightspeed would not be crossed, and the travel to the star what is as an example the 150 light-years away from the beginning point of the wormhole would take 150 years, as I wrote before, but inside the particle, the travel would feel to take the only couple of minutes. In this version, the lightspeed would be the cosmic speed limit and the wormhole would be only the virtual effect, what is possible only in the speed, what is near the speed of light.
2. The craft would jump to the fourth dimension
That theory bases the idea that the cosmic speed limit is the level of energy, where the three-dimensional universe can keep the particle inside it. And if the particle would face or cross that speed, the kinetic energy transforms it as the black hole, and the particle drops out of our universe.
We don't know is the travel to the fourth dimension possible, and if the particle would transform into a black hole, there is a possibility that it would explode immediately. That means that the black hole would be filled, and it would be destroyed, because of Hawking's radiation, what escapes from the black hole would cause that the black hole would vanish or be streamed to quark steam. But if it would jump to the fourth dimension, it would open interesting visions.
Why some people are talking about the fifth dimension? And is the fourth dimension only space, what is behind the event horizons of black holes? Or is it some kind of energy level?
Somewhere is claimed, that the wormhole itself would be the fourth dimension. And the fifth dimension is the space, where the wormhole takes the particle. Some cosmologists are thinking that the fourth dimension is the space inside the event horizon.
And if the wormhole could take particles only to the gravitational center of the network of black holes, the fourth dimension would be the supermassive black hole in the center of Galaxy. So the fifth dimension is in this theory route back from those particles
Or some other theories are claiming, that the "fourth dimension" is the energy level, and when the energy would be pumped away, the particle could return from that space to our universe. And the wormhole, what brings particles back from the fourth dimension is the fifth dimension.
Dropping out of universe means the particle would travel to space, which is known as the "fourth dimension". That thing is an interesting space, because of the particle would be out of our universe. But how we can prove that thing? The problem with that thing is that we don't know, how to return the particle from the fourth or fifth dimension.
