The hydrogen fuel storage is a problematic thing in hydrogen vehicles
One of the biggest problems with the hydrogen power vehicles is the structure on the fuel tank because the leak of the hydrogen gas would be released in the air, would the result be the explosion. The best solution for the structure of this vital component is the nanotechnical solution, where the structure seems like foam, and in every bubble of this structure is the ventilation system, what denies the leak of the hydrogen in the case of damage.
The thing is that this system would be more effective and safer than store the hydrogen in some alkali metal like lithium, which is dangerous because of the high reactivity of the alkali metals. And the thing what is a risk in the hydrogen-powered system is that somebody accidentally or in purpose damages, the hydrogen storage, what would cause that the highly inflammable and explosive hydrogen gas would leak in the air, and the bubble-tank would limit the mass of the leaking hydrogen gas.
The hydrogen is excellent material for the combustion engines, but there is one problem with that thing. Hydrogen is clean and energy efficient fuel and the only thing, what is problematic in the production process, is that the electrolysis process must be used the clean energy. If solar power or some other clean energy system would be used in the electrolysis process, that thing makes hydrogen very useful as the clean fuel.
There is another problem with hydrogen engines, and the thing is that Hydrogen is gas, and if that fuel is leaked in the closed space, that can cause the explosion risk because hydrogen can explode in the mixture of air. So the fuel tank or storage in the vehicles, what are using in those hydrogen systems must be made by using the cell structure. That means that in the case of the leak, this tank would leak only the small number of the hydrogen gas in the air.
By using advanced structure technology the tank can be made by the metal or carbon fiber, and the structure will seem like foam. In every bubble in that material would be ventilation, what would close each cell if there is some kind of leak, as I wrote on the top. And this kind of safety problems is shadowing the development of hydrogen power systems. The thing is that the battery technology would be less effective than the fuel cells, but they are safer than the hydrogen fuel cells.
The thing with hydrogen is that it can also be used in turbine motors and the turbines are giving the very much more power to any vehicle than the turbine motors. In the visions, the trucks and some other heavy duty devices would be equipped with the turbines along with electric power systems, and those hydrogen burning turbines can give those vehicles extreme high power, and they can operate with turbines in heavy-duty situations, where the cargo is extremely heavy.
