What means the caseless cartridge?


The computer base-launching systems can install electric cannons like the famous M-61 Vulcan (1). In this case in the middle of rotating tubes would mount a camera, which is connected to the image identifier. When the computer would see the hostile target, the electric cannon opens the fire.  If the camera is in the middle of the rotating tubes, the accuracy of the fire would be very high. 

The caseless cartridge (2) means the case, where ammunitions shell would burn to ash during the shot. If the case of the cartridge is made by using cellulose and filled with stone gunpowder. That means that the burning gunpowder will destroy the shell.  That means that there would not shells on the ground after the shot is fired. 

The metal storm (3) is an ultimate weapon, which can shoot over a million rounds per minute. The problem with this system is that the ammunition is loaded in the rows of separated tubes, where they are ignited by using an electric spark. 




In normal cases, the ammunition is separated in the tubes by the propellant what can be plastic explosives or stone gunpowder, which denies the need for removing shells. The computer-based launching system allows that the length of the firing bursts can order very sharply. But removing the used shells is a problem. If the system is using pre-loaded tubes, there is no problem, but if the operator should load that weapon at the field the form of the propellant is important. 

Removing the spool is the thing, that causes the problem because ammunition is in a row at the tubes. But the answer to the problem of how to remove the spoon might be using the stoned gunpowder. In this case, the ammunition would load at the front of the hardened gunpowder. This denies the need for spools in the cartridge. 

Another and the more conventional solution would be using the paper cartridge, which would turn ash when the gunpowder is burning. So in this case the metal storm doesn't need to remove used shells what makes it easier to use.
