A laser tunnel is theoretically a very simple tool. The other laser would transmit data in the tunnel, which is made by using hollow laser rays. This thing isolates the internal laser ray from the outside. And that thing denies the measurement of the changes of brightness in the laser ray which transports the data. 

One way to protect data in data cable is to make a virtualized quantum cable. In that version of the data transmitting system, the laser rays would internally transmit the data. In this case, the hollow laser ray would cover the data transmitting laser. Because the data transmitting happens in the other laser ray, what is forming the tunnel what denies the external observer notices the changes of the brightness of the internal laser, and that thing makes better data protection. 

In some other solution the data cable is made by using the millimeter-sized chambers, where is the low-power laser led and the photo-voltaic cell. That system can transmit the data with a very high-security level, and if the cable or series of nano components is covered with the material, what absorbs the light that thing would deny the eavesdropping of the system. In this kind of system, the cable is the thing, that looks like the bacteria chain.

In each unit is the microchip what mission is to control the laser LED. That computer control LED. The LED transmits the data from another side of the cell to another. And because the light travels a very short route, that means that the needed light force is low. Eavesdropping the light cable happens by using the photovoltaic cell, which is put on the cable, and then the system would use an intensifier for trying to separate the flashes of the laser-ray. 

Another way to protect data is to use the soundwaves in the miniature structure, which is covered by using a vacuum. In this model, the series of chambers where is the loudspeaker and microphone would put to series. The speed of the data transmitting is not very high, but that structure, where each component is about a millimeter size chamber, that thing would give very good data protection for the information, which doesn't need a very high speed.
