Could "Flying Dutchman" be some kind of monitor?


This is the time to return to cost ships. The ship above this text is used in the movie "Pirates of Caribbean", and it's for the illustration. So the Image I (Image I) is not portraying the real "Flying Dutchman". 

One of the most interesting theories about the thing called Flying Dutchman is that the ship is a so-called "monitor". That means that the tale has been told to warn people about the "ugly ships". If we are looking at the shape of the ship that is used in the "Pirates of Caribbean" movie.  There is a possibility that if the ship has that kind of shape. There could be mortar in the bow of that ship.

There is a possibility that some ships were equipped with mortars, and the mission of those ships would be to break the coastal fortresses. The mortar could mount on the bow. And that thing causes, that the ship introduced as a "ghost ship" to other people because those systems were military secrets. 

If the large-size cannon (about 600 mm.)would hit to enemy ship in the time of wood ships, that thing would make it the wreck in a couple of seconds. Of course, monitors can equip with flamethrowers.

In some other theories the "Flying Dutchman" is the myth, what is written for covering modern aviation technology. In some very interesting claiming the CIA has been tried or planned to make the EKRANOPLAN or GEV (Ground Effect Vehicle) that is masked as the sailing ship. In this modern version of the "Flying Dutchman," the rib of the ship would rise upwards, and form the wings. 

And inside this aircraft would be the jet engine. The fact is that if this thing is true, the shape of the craft as a sailing ship would make it more trusted than the shape of the motor ship. So is the "Flying Dutchman" some kind of modern flying boat is a mystery, but it's one very interesting theory.
