Robots can fight back


At first, I want to say that the key topics in this text are the civilian solutions. And that means that here the robots are observing by the point of view of safety. 

When we are watching a movie, what is above this text, we must realize that robots have not own will. Every action, what they are doing is programmed in their computers, and that means that every movement, what robots are doing are authorized by the human programmer, who has made the controlling code for the robot. And the terrifying vision is that somebody has been chanced the control code, and then the robot can attack against other people. 

This is one thing, that the creators of robotics and artificial intelligence must realize. This means that the robot must be protected against this kind of attack, where somebody would just change the USB-stick in the computer, and that thing can cause the horrifying situation. 

The problem with robots is that they cannot do a thing, which is coded in their memory. In the worst situation in the controlling algorithm of the robot is programmed the "shadow algorithm", which means that it would attack against selected targets, and the robot can use the biometric recognition to find the targets. And when the target is noticed, the system can attack against that individual. 

The thing that makes that very dangerous is that this kind of thing can be thought of as the malfunction of the systems. So what we can do, if we want to make robots safer? The first thing is that we must not make robots by using "one system fits all ideology". And that means that the combat robots must make by using different ideologies than guarding and working robots, what mission is to operate in limited areas. 

So the power source and other things about that kind of robot must not be so sophisticated, and the simple socket and wire are enough for robots, which must not operate in some deserts. The materials of the body of robots must make by using reasonable materials for the body of robots. In normal use, the robot must not have titanium-carbon fiber-based armor, and the computing capacity of robots can be limited. 

Also, the robots must be created that way, that the power of that system can shut down if there are problems with that thing. The simply remote-controlled switch, where the electric motor would turn the power off would be effective. And space, where robot operates can equip with EMP-system, what shuts the robot down immediately. 

Of course, if the robot is connected to the socket, switching the power off in the building is enough for cutting the electricity. In every case, when the prototype-robots and new computer programs for those things are tested, the switching off the electricity of the robots must be made easy. 

If a robot operates in a limited area it might have outsourced data handling system, which means that it is controlled by a normal computer, which is located in some room. That system transmits the movement- and other orders for the robot, what might have only the movement orders in the computers. So in this scenario, every joint and hydraulic cylinder is operated by own computer. And for every action like taking the glass from the table is stored the movement series in the database. 

How the internal network of robot works?

When we are thinking about the internal network of the robots, the idea is to share the load of the need for computer power to the subsystems. In this case, every part of the robot is controlled by own computer. That makes it possible to use less powerful computers, and the central computer of the system would send the orders what to do to the subsystems like feet and arms, which is necessary for handling that kind of mission. 

So the central computer can send the order to the computer, which controls the left arm of the robot to take the glass from a certain table. And then the computer, what controls the hand would start to make its mission. In that process, the robot would also use other sensors to reach the item, what is wanted to rise from the table. 

And that means that it can search the things by using surveillance cameras, and robots are not straight copies of humans or animals, and they can have also detectors all around bodies, what is telling to the robot that there is something in the working area. So they might have cameras laser-radars and other systems also in hands, that they can take the sensitive touch to the systems. But the safe systems of that thing might be interacting and tell also people that there is a robot working in some area. 

The thing is that the robots must not handle every mission, and the same robots, what are used in the warehouses must not act at the same time make combat missions. Separating those models makes robotics safer, and when we are thinking about robots we must compare them with cars and other technical equipment. We are not buying armored vehicles and family car at the same time. This is the thing that we must transfer to robotics. The same models must not fit military and civil purposes.
