Above this text is the famous image of the surface planet of Proxima Centauri, or the planet could orbit every other red dwarf stars. The image that is painted by David Hardy could also portrait the planet, which orbits the red or orange giant.  But if it is portraying the planet of a red dwarf. The image is portraying the area that is at the border of the light and night what continues forever. 

In the terminator, the line between night and day the temperature might be right for the liquid water. That means that on that planet can be formed two species of aliens. The aliens are living in the absolute darkness and species that are living in extreme heat. Or maybe those aliens are living only on the night side, at the extreme cold, because the flare eruptions of the red dwarf would raise the temperature very high. 

But the locked planet has one very special thing in their geology. The gravity of the red dwarf will pull the nucleus of the planet to it, and that can cause long-term volcanic eruptions on the dayside. 

The reason, why those volcanoes seem active or silently erupting could be that the red dwarf star is pulling the magma of the planet to the other side, and that causes the calm volcanic activity. The hills on the other side of the water area seem to be spent because of erosion. 

And the calm volcanic action is telling that the nucleus of this planet is freezing. The planet would be very old, and that means that there is no radioactive material below the surface and the only thing that keeps the lithosphere melted is the tidal forces of the planet. The thing is that when the nuclear material inside the planet is ending, the magnetosphere will be gone if the tidal forces would not keep it melted.
