How air-molecules form a sound barrier? And are quantum fields acting like air molecules?
If we want to make a craft, what travels faster than the speed of light, we must realize why crossing the speed of the light is impossible or at least extremely difficult. One version is to use a black hole in that operation, but the problem is that the black hole can break the structure of the craft.
The thing is that the black hole must form around the craft, not inside it. If the singularity is forming inside the craft it would collapse the structure, and the crew will die, because of the tidal forces, when they are dropping to that black hole.
If we would want to use black holes in interstellar travel, we must create an artificial black hole, which must be in the absolute right position, that it would not crush the structure of the craft. Or the craft must use a natural black hole and the problem is how to travel to that black hole because even the closest black holes are over a thousand light-years away from Earth.
How to make an interstellar journey without black holes?
The thing is that we can start to solve the problem by thinking that the quantum fields are acting like gas molecules, and the light barrier is similar to the sound barrier. And crossing the speed of the light the system requires to make the exhaust gas, what specific impulse crosses the speed of the light.
That is the only and biggest problem for creating a craft that can cross the speed of light. There is a couple of theoretical research made about that thing, but the thing is that even theoretically that kind of system is very complicated.
