Congratulations on finding the axions
Physicists have probably found axion the hypothetical particle, and that thing can also revolutionize science(1). Or at least give impulse to search for the other hypothetical particles like tachyons and gravitons. In some theories, axions (2) are the main role or forming the dark matter, and that thing is a very interesting point of view to that thing. Maybe axion is key to understand the forming of the dark matter, the mysterious thing, what dominates everything.
And at this point, I must say that the axions might form some or major part of the dark matter(3). But there is the possibility that the dark matter is forming by many types of particles like slow quarks, axions, and many other things that cannot react with the other particles.
There are two forms of dark matter, the cold dark matter what is the major form of material (4), and the hot dark matter(5), and both of them are the hypothetical forms of matter. The most promising candidate to hot dark matter is a quark, and if the axion is the major particle of the cold dark matter, that means that we have found a very remarkable thing.
So there has no visual contact with the dark matter, but maybe axion is chancing everything. The thing is that because the dark matter is an almost hypothetical form of material we cannot say, that the cold dark matter is the majority.
The dark matter is the thing, which gravitational effect will be seen, and what effects by its gravity field. There is a possibility, that axion opens the window to that very strange form of the material, what we cannot see, or what we cannot touch, but it exists. 85% of the universe is forming about the dark matter.
But as you might read from the article below this text, there is a possibility that confirming the axion takes a while. Because the observation of axion is hanging in one impact with the noble gas atom. That single impact is caused by the naturally moving particle, which hits the noble gas.
The gas is in absolute darkness, and fully protected chamber, where the only thing, that can affect gas is the particle, what comes outside, and that particle is the axion or neutrino. So if the particle is the neutrino, that can cause disappointment. But if the observation is confirmed, that thing is one of the greatest moments for science.
