When we are talking about fundamental replacements of petrol, we must always remember one solution, what is not need any new technology. That thing is ethanol. Ethanol is a very suitable fuel for piston engines, and it can produce very easily by using potatoes, sugar, and leaven. And in fact, the ethanol can produce behind the farmer's corner, what is, of course, an illegal act.
But the ethanol would be the cheap and clean product, what is already used in automobiles, including high-performance drag racing vehicles in Top Alcohol class. The ethanol would be a suitable fuel for the piston engine, which uses steamed fuel, and this would be a very interesting solution in many other areas like aviation, where is needed the high-performance engines.
The motor, what is using steamed fuel is called a vapor fuel system, and it's a very economical solution. The gallon of fuel would allow the car going a very long time if it would deliver in the motor in the form of gas. There are two ways to steam fuel. Another is using the water to create the steam, and if the steam, what is a mixture with fuel and water would drive in the cylinders, would that give more power of the machine, because the fuel is detonated in the middle of steam.
The water would give the extra material to the cylinder, and it would allow using less fuel for expanding the area of exploding material. Another is to make the steam of fuel by using the electric heater. The system could be like a parking heater, but the fuel would go through it. The thing what is problematic is in the start. When the engine starts to run, the heat for the vaporization process can be taken from the exhaust gas.
The thing what makes this fuel system very interesting is that it can be used by many types of fuel, and one of the most interesting solutions would be used the acetylene or cosine gas along with liquid fuel. The cosine gas bottle can be connected in the same system with the fuel tank. And then the gas can also be used for steaming the fuel. The problem of using the fuel for that process is that it will cause fuel consumption if it would be used simultaneously. And the temperature of that system should rise high enough, that the fuel would be steamed.
