About losing the best employee


The thing with the best employee is something like the two-sided particle. When we are thinking about the situation, that we have one employee, whose skills and work are critical for our business, we are facing a very problematic situation. Of course, we might want to keep that employee, but if that person realizes, that there is nobody, who can take that person place, would that be the very bad thing, because that kind of person will want to get the salary for the work.

If the person is priceless, can we tell that thing to this person? That kind of thing might cause the directors and other staff would face an awkward situation, but the other way, we must realize that we must keep this employee would stay in the service, or otherwise, we must start to find the new employee. The problem is if that priceless person would be a highly educated professional, we might not find another person in that position very soon.

And the worst thing, what we can do, is to tell that we must hire a new lawyer or engineer in the very short period because we need a new person to replace the priceless worker. In this kind of situation, the hired person would raise the salary asking at a very high level, because in that case, there is a possibility to blackmail the employer. And in those cases, we cannot otherwise let even the priceless worker act, how this person wants.

And otherwise, we cannot lose the person, whose venture in the company is hard to replace. Those workers might work in creative work like in the innovation and developing, and that makes that those persons personal venture in the project is very high. So think yourself, what kind of situation this would be for the leaders of the company. If some person notices, to being priceless would the salary rise at a very high level. Or otherwise, that person would change the company.
