Solar-powered skin can use in a modern prosthesis, but it has many other points to use.

Solar-powered skin would be a very interesting thing for many purposes. Of course, it can use to make the new and more advanced prosthesis, because that kind of layer would give electricity to the computer systems of the prosthesis. The main problem with the new computerized prosthesis is the electric supply.

The sockets can use only in the city area, and one answer would be the hybrid system, where is the normal batteries and fuel cells, which can use things like alcohol for fuel. Of course, the system can use exchangeable batteries, but that thing requires that the backup batteries the person who uses that kind of prosthesis would carry backup batteries. The limits of solar skin is that thing is giving electricity only when the sun is shining.

And at orbiter, the sun is shining all the time, when the spacecraft is on the dayside of Earth.

If the outer layer of the spacesuit will cover by using solar panels, that will increase the operational time of astronauts in a spacewalk. Or the solar power-skin can use with robots that are operating in the orbiter. That thing will decrease the need to use the power cells and this increases the operational time of batteries.

The idea of flexible solar panels is that small panels are forming the entirety. Things like the canvas are covered by many small-size solar panels, whose size could be less than a millimeter. That thing makes those layers flexible, and they can use to make things like clothes.

The solar-skin would also use to load the electricity to things like mobile telephones and laptop computers. This thing allows us to make clothes, which are loading batteries. And also things like "no-contact" clothes, which are giving electric shocks if somebody would touch them could get electricity from the solar-power skin. The no-contact clothes are basing the electrodes, which are acting like electric batons. The skin that gives electricity is acting as a solar panel, and that thing can use as a portable solar power device.

It can use as a wicket in the forest, and it can give electricity to electric equipment. It could use also with the new stealth cloaks and active stealth clothes, whose mission is to make the person invisible in the environment. The image from the back of the clothes would project to the side, what it to the observer. So those clothes are acting like a chameleon that merges into the background.

But the solar skin can use also with man-shaped robots, which are operating very soon in many places. That soler-power skin could be like the overalls, what the robot can use like normal clothes. The system can give electricity wirelessly to the robot, which can also have fuel cells for nighttime operations. Those robots can simply drink some hydrocarbon like alcohol, that they can produce electricity for their systems.
