Abu Simbel
At the place that is 345 kilometers from Theba or modern Luxor is the temple of Abu Simbel. Actually, in that place is two temples, the bigger one was for Ramses II. The smaller temple is made for his favorite wife Nefertari. Ramses II built a large temple in the rock at the place, which is locating 850 kilometers from Giza. Officially Ramses II created that monument for memory of one of his battles, but as we know that the real reason for making that temple could be something else than Ramses told to people.
Temples of Abu Simbel are made 1284-1262 BC. There are no mentions that Ramses II ever visited or supervised that construction himself. That temple locates on the upper side of River Nile, and if something put the Nile in that place, that thing would float to Theba, and this thing causes questions was a young pharaoh send down to the river when some part of his training was done.

The remote location from the capital and other cities of Egypt is causing discussion, which Pharaoh made with that place. The thing is that there are theories that Pharaoh used Abu Simbel for some kind of meditation place, or that place could be excellent for training young pharaoh because the entrance and access to that area can easily be controlled.
The thing is that Abu Simbel is locating in the remote location is interesting. Nobody makes that kind of place for fun, and that means there must be some purpose in that kind of temples. If we are thinking that Abu Simbel temple is built only for the memory of some battle, we must realize that the temple is somehow too massive for that purpose.
So even if the pharaoh told that some monument is made for some reason, the real reason could be something else. And there is a possibility that this kind of place has been forgotten or pharaoh might not visit there quite often. 345 kilometers was quite a long journey at that time, and this means that the pharaoh must have time to make that journey.
